Out of Focus

This NYTimes article puts forth the proposition that many modern “convienences” i.e. email, IM, cellphones and etc. have increased the number of tasks a person is expected to juggle at any given time, thereby making said person less efficient overall. Me personally, I have no problem with multi-tasking and timeslicing, except when somebody asks me to track the hours I’ve spent working on all these projects! It’s like, “Uh, yeah…. I think I was kind of updating those documents while I was waiting for the batch to finish…but I was also doing tech support for the guy who sits next to me. Is there a job code for that?” =P

there should be a job code for listening to whitney houston.

if you are forced to endure the bodyguard soundtrack, it counts double.

if you are responsible for the playing of said whitney, it’s negative time for you.
